3. How long does Bigen’s colour last?
The colour of Bigen Powder Hair Colour technically lasts for 2 - 3 months, though it depends on hair condition or frequency of washing hair.  The ordinary permanent hair colours uses Ammonia to swell hair shafts by that the colour pigments can go into the hair shafts.  Once opened with Ammonia, however, the cuticles of hair shaft hardly close and the colour pigments go off easily from hair shaft.   Bigen Powder Hair Colour does not contain and use Ammonia to swell hair shaft.  Besides, its molecules become so bigger after being oxidized that it cannot pass through the hair shafts.  This is why, the colour of Bigen Powder Hair Colour lasts such a long.

 

4. Does Bigen Powder Hair Color give off harsh odour?
Bigen Powder Hair Colour has no harsh odour because it does not contain Ammonia, which is where disagreeable odour usually comes from.  Also, faint perfume is contained in Bigen Powder Hair Colour.

 

5. How can I use Bigen Powder Hair Colour?
It is very simple.  Pour Bigen Powder Hair Colour into a plastic or glass bowl.  Add tap water at room temperature in it and mix them well.  Apply mixture to hair starting from where is the most grey.  Leave it for 20 to 30 minutes.  Rinse hair with warm water well and then shampoo it until the water runs completely clear and free of colour.  Finally dry your hair and style it as usual.

 

6. Do I need shampoo hair before using Bigen Powder Hair Colour?
Apply to dry hair.  You do not need pre-shampoo unless your hair is very oily or treated with metallic colour such as hair colour spray or any styling stuff such as pomade, hair lacquer.  In this case, it is advisable that you should shampoo your hair the day before using Bigen Powder Hair Colour.  Applying to wet hair may affect result obtained.

 

7. How long do I have to wait for, after application of hair colour?
The normal leaving time is 20 to 30 minutes. If the hair is damaged or permed, the hair can be darkened easily because damaged or permed hair absorbs a tint mixture quickly.  It is recommended that you should make the leaving time shorter. If it is hard to cover grey and/or coarse hair, it is recommended that you should make the leaving time longer.

Bigen Powder Hair Colour contains 6g of powder.  It becomes about 68.5g after mixing with 5 measuring cups provided of tap water.  This amount can normally cover the whole head of hair ranging from short to semi-long length hair depending on the thickness of hair.  For long-haired person, two bottles may be needed, but only at the very first application.
    One month later, about one centimeter of new growth will come up and it is the time for retouching.  You do not need to apply Bigen Powder Hair Colour to the previous tinted part because it has still nice colour; Bigen’s color lasts for about 3 months.  Therefore, apply Bigen Powder Hair Colour to only new growth and in this case a half bottle is enough and then the reminder can be kept for future application.  The ordinary permanent hair colors fade easily in one month after application, so you have to use up a whole bottle to cover not only the new growth but also the previous tinted part every month.

 

9. How can I choose a color of Bigen Powder Hair Color?
Bigen is designed to cover grey hair naturally.  You can choose one color of Bigen Powder Hair Color close to your natural hair-color or darker.  Since Bigen has no bleaching powder, the result may sometimes get darker than the applied color itself.  It is recommended that those who have little grey hair should choose one shade lighter color of Bigen Powder Hair Color than their natural shade.

 

10. I have hair with natural color like Black or Dark Brown.  Can I use light color of Bigen Powder Hair Colour like No. 46 Light Chestnut, No. 26 Golden Brown, No. 37 Dark Auburn?
Bigen Powder Hair Colour deposits its color to cover grey hair, and does not have the bleaching power to lift hair shades, so it cannot lighten your hair.  If your hair is all black or dark brown, you cannot obtain such colors.  If you have partially grey, you can obtain such colors in the grey part only and the rest of hair is darkened.  In this case, your hair looks darker.  If you have all grey, you can obtain such colors nicely.  Therefore Bigen Powder Hair Colour cannot be recommended to those who want to lighten their hair.

 

11. I have used Henna for my hair.  Can I use Bigen Powder Hair Colour for my hair?
When Bigen Powder Hair Colour is used to hair covered with Henna, it may affect colour results.  This is because; the colour of Bigen Powder Hair Colour overlaps with the color of Henna strongly remained in hair shaft and it may prevent a desirable colour from being obtained.  It is recommended that you should wait to use Bigen Powder Hair Colour until your hair grows and the colored part is cut.

 

12. Can I have my hair permed after covering grey with Bigen Powder Hair Colour?
It is advisable that your hair should be first permed, because if colouring prior to permanent is operated, the colour may be easily faded out when the hair is permed.  It is recommended that you should use Bigen Powder Hair Colour one week or more after permanent.  This also can reduce the damage of your hair.

13. Can I use Bigen Powder Hair Colour for beard or mustache?
Do not use Bigen Powder Hair Colour on facial hair like beard, mustache, eyelashes and eyebrows, around which part is very sensitive.  To do so may cause allergic reaction and blindness.
 
14. How can I do if the mixture gets on skin?
If the mixture gets on skin, damp a cotton wool with water and remove stain immediately.  You may be able to remove the stain on a schalp or hairline by shampoo.  If it cannot be removed yet, dip a cotton wool in soapy water and rub it off.  The stain will come off spontaneously in about three days.
        It is recommended that you should apply cold cream or Vaseline around your hairline and ears where the mixture easily gets on before colouring your hair.

 

15. Can I use the reminder of powder?
You can use it for future application as long as you keep the bottle tightly capped.  If it is not opened, Bigen can maintain its quality in good condition for three years from manufacturing date as long as it is stored in a cool and dry place.  After opening it, it is advisable that you should use it up at your earliest convenience although its quality is still maintained good like that before opening.

 

16. Should I do the preliminary skin test before each and every use of Bigen Powder Hair Colour?
All permanent hair colour products including Bigen Powder Hair Colour require the preliminary skin test before each use.  It is because permanent hair colours contain an ingredient called “Diamin” which causes antigen-antibody reaction to specific people.  Even though you have been colouring you hair without any problem until today, an antibody to diamine may be produced in the body in course of time.  Then skin irritation may occur on your face or head suddenly when you use hair colouring products some day.  Therefore, you should do the preliminary skin test 48 hours before each and every use of Bigen Powder Hair Colour so as to ascertain whether you are sensitive to Diamine.

6. How can I use Bigen Speedy Hair Colour?
It is very simple and quick.  All you have to do is to squeeze the same amount of creams from both Tube 1 and Tube 2 on a special applicator comb provided and apply them to hair starting from the grayest area just by combing through.  You do not need to mix them by yourself.  The creams can be mixed automatically by combing through. Leave for 5 minutes and wash your hair well.  For retouching, you squeeze out the creams on a plastic tray provided and apply them only to the grey part that you want to cover.  For the hairline or sideburns, using the edge of the comb facilitates your application.

 

7. Do I need do shampoo my hair before the application?
Yes, if your hair is dry. Bigen Speedy Hair Colour can maintain its quality in good condition for 3 years from the manufacturing date if it is unopened & stored in a cool and dry place.  Even though you have opened tubes once, you can store it for 3 year if you tighten caps without any impurities, but it is recommended that you should use it up in 2-3 months.  When you use the remainder cream at future application, you would find that the cream around opening of tube 1 might be slightly darkened.  It is happened because the cream gets oxidized and colors by exposing to an air in a tube.  This reaction will not affect the dyeing result at all and you can use it safely.

 

17. If a mixture gets on skin, how can I take a stain out?
